Abstract

Abstract: In recent years, digital technologies have played a crucial role in improving agricultural practices, providing farmers with tools for decision-making. Despite the growing interest of rural producers in these technologies, some face challenges in their adoption. This article aims to map the digital technologies used by family farmers in Sentinela do Sul, investigating both the benefits and challenges associated with this adoption. The study adopts a qualitative-quantitative approach, conducting 50 interviews with family farmers in the region. The results reveal a low level of knowledge and adoption of digital technologies, influenced by the educational and age profile of the respondents. The conclusions emphasize the need for digital inclusion policies for this audience, highlighting the importance of rural extension projects. Additionally, the study significantly contributes by identifying limitations and benefits in the adoption of these technologies, providing valuable insights for future initiatives and enhancing the relationship between digital technology and family farmers.
